Sepahan Earns Emphatic Win over Aluminum, Esteghlal Edges Foolad
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Sepahan football team pummeled Aluminum 6-1 in the Iran Professional League (IPL) on Saturday, while Esteghlal edged past Foolad in Tehran.
Sajad Shahbazzafdeh and Danial Esmaeilifar scored two goals each and Mohammadreza Khalatbari and Mohammad Mohebbi also were on target for Sepahan.
At the Azadi Stadium, Esteghlal defeated Foolad 1-0. Arsalan Motahari was on target from the penalty spot in the 82nd minute. It was Farhad Majidi’s first win in charge of Esteghlal.
Earlier in the day, Persepolis drew 0-0 with Sanat Naft in Abadan.
