Zarif Slams EU3’s Appeasement of Israel, Non-Compliance with UNSCR
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Foreign Minister of Iran Mohammad Javad Zarif lashed out at the three European parties to the 2015 nuclear deal for their attempts to appease the Zionist regime, saying the troika and the US must honor the UN Security Council Resolution 2231 instead of coordination with Israelis.
In a post on his Twitter account on Friday, the top Iranian diplomat hit back at the French president over the baseless accusations against Tehran.
“To appease a terrorist regime with illicit nukes, E3 urge Iran ‘to act responsibly’. Reality check: The JCPOA is alive SOLELY because of Iran's responsible conduct,” Zarif said in the tweet.
“Instead of coordinating with enemy No.1 of the JCPOA, the EU/E3 & US must act responsibly & comply with UNSCR 2231,” the top Iranian diplomat added.
In comments on Thursday, French President Emmanuel Macron accused Tehran of continuing what he called violations of the nuclear agreement and urged Iran to act “in a responsible way.”
