Indian Couple with COVID-19 Locked Inside Their Apartment by Neighbors (+Video)
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – A shocking video shows a Covid-19 positive married couple are locked inside their apartment by neighbors who alleged that the duo were breaking quarantine rules.
The incident occurred in the city of Nellore. The pair, who had been quarantined at their home for 10 days after testing positive, had to request police assistance to be released, NewIndianExpress reported.
Both the husband and wife are private employees who have lived in the apartment for the past three years. The couple told the media that they had been confined to their flat and that their relatives had been supplying them with medications and groceries.
Their two unaffected children are both being cared for by friends, according to the couple. According to the wife, her husband was forced to go out on Monday night to buy some drugs because no one was around to assist them at such a late hour.
Other residents locked the house after seeing the husband come in from outside, and the couple was taken aback when they discovered they were trapped inside.
The police removed the lock and counselled the residents. The opposite flat owner has been charged with unlawful imprisonment, according to Nawabpeta Circle Inspector K. Vema Reddy. He added that the accused, Bhaskar Reddy, is still at large and will be apprehended soon.
