COVID-19 Claims 380 Iranian Lives in Past 24 Hours

TEHRAN (Tasnim) - The coronavirus disease (COVID-19) has claimed the lives of 380 more Iranians in the last 24 hours, taking the total number of deaths to 68,746, according to Iran's Health Ministry.

Over the last 24 hours, 22,904 new cases of COVID-19 infection were discovered, with 3,423 of them requiring hospitalization, according to the ministry.

It went on to say that the 380 new deaths brought the country's overall COVID-19 deaths to 68,746.

Out of a total of 2,358,809 infected individuals, 1,850,791 have recovered or been discharged from hospitals, according to the ministry.

Some 3,423 patients with COVID-19 are in critical condition and are being treated in intensive care units, according to the statement.

14,966,149 coronavirus diagnosis tests have been performed so far across the world.

The number of people infected with COVID-19 across the world has surpassed 145 million and the death toll has exceeded 3.08 million.
