Zarif Raps US for Hoarding COVID Vaccine
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif deplored the poor global vaccination response to the coronavirus pandemic, saying the US has a surplus of vaccine while many nations have been left to fend for themselves.
“Global COVID-19 pandemic should've had a global vaccination response,” the top Iranian diplomat said in a tweet on Sunday.
“But many have been left to fend for themselves, whether due to sanctions and medical terrorism against Iranians, or out of malice toward Palestinians,” Zarif noted.
“US has a vaccine surplus,” he added, saying vaccine hoarding is tantamount to mass murder.
The number of people infected with COVID-19 across the world has surpassed 147 million and the death toll has exceeded 3.1 million.
