Iran’s Foreign Minister in Ireland for Talks
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif arrived in Dublin on Wednesday for talks with senior Irish officials.
The top Iranian diplomat has visited Ireland in a European tour that took him to Spain and Italy earlier.
In a post on his Twitter account on Tuesday, Zarif pointed to his meetings in Italy, saying, “In talks with Italian political and business leaders, agreed on Italy's great advantage in resuming business with Iran.”
During his stay in Rome and the Vatican, Zarif held meetings with Italian Prime Minister Massimo D'Alema, Foreign Minister Luigi Di Maio, Pope Francis, President of Italy-Iran Joint Chamber of Commerce Giuseppe Zampini, President of the Italian Chamber of Deputies Roberto Fico, and Chairman of the Foreign Policy Committee of the Italian Senate Paolo Petrocelli.
The main topics discussed in the top Iranian diplomat’s meetings included Tehran-Rome economic cooperation, regional developments, and the issue of Palestine.
