Coronavirus in Iran: Hospital Admissions below 1,200
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran’s Health Ministry said on Sunday that the number of coronavirus positive cases hospitalized across the country over the past 24 hours was 1,170.
The Health Ministry’s spokeswoman said at a press conference on Sunday that 8,631 new coronavirus cases have been detected in Iran during the past 24 hours, while only 1,170 have been admitted to the hospital.
Sima Sadat Lari said the total number of people tested positive for COVID-19 infection in Iran has exceeded 2,832,500.
More than 2,333,700 patients have recovered from the coronavirus infection so far or have been discharged from hospitals across Iran, the spokeswoman added.
She further put the death toll from COVID-19 in Iran at 78,597, saying the disease has taken the lives of 216 patients over the past 24 hours.
Among those undergoing treatment in medical centers at present, 4,855 coronavirus patients have critical health conditions because of more severe infection, Lari noted.
The spokeswoman also said more than 18.93 million coronavirus diagnostic tests have been carried out in Iran so far and over 2,536,600 people have received the first dose of coronavirus vaccine.
The number of people infected with COVID-19 across the world has surpassed 167 million and the death toll has exceeded 3.47 million.
