Iran’s President Hails Brotherly Ties with Azerbaijan
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – In a congratulatory message on the Republic of Azerbaijan’s national day, Iranian President Hassan Rouhani praised the close relations between the two neighbors, expressing confidence that they will promote ties in various fields.
In a Friday message to Azeri President Ilham Aliyev, Rouhani congratulated the “friend and brother” government and nation of Azerbaijan on the Republic Day.
“As two amicable neighbors, the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Republic of Azerbaijan have displayed high-level brotherly relations with good neighborliness since the independence of that country (Azerbaijan) by relying on historical, cultural and religious bonds,” the Iranian president added.
President Rouhani also expressed confidence that the two neighbors will strengthen cooperation, promote political, economic and cultural ties, and deepen regional peace and stability on the basis of their rich cultures, common historical background, and mutual understanding.
He also wished the Azeri leader and people health, success and prosperity.
Azerbaijan is celebrating the 103rd anniversary of its Republic Day. This holiday commemorates the founding of the Democratic Republic of Azerbaijan in 1918.
