Daily Coronavirus Death Toll in Iran Remains above 100
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran’s Health Ministry reported more than 100 deaths from COVID-19 in the 24-hour period between Wednesday noon and Thursday noon.
The ministry said Thursday that the total death toll from the disease in the country has reached 84,389 after 125 patients succumbed to the coronavirus over the past 24 hours.
It said 14,303 new coronavirus cases were detected in Iran in the said period, bringing the total number of cases to 3,218,860.
According to the ministry, at least 2,889,939 patients have recovered from the disease so far or have been discharged from hospitals across the country.
It went on to say that over 23.7 million coronavirus diagnostic tests have been carried out in Iran so far and more than 4.42 million people have received the first dose of coronavirus vaccine.
Worldwide, more than 183 million people have been infected with COVID-19 and the death toll from the disease is about to hit 4 million.
