IPL: Sepahan Beats Machine Sazi
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Sepahan football team defeated Machine Sazi 1-0 Thursday night to keep pressure on Iran Professional League (IPL) leader Persepolis.
In the match held in Isfahan’s Naghsh-e Jahan Stadium, Danial Esmaeilifar scored the winner in the 67th minute.
Things went from bad to worse for Machine Sazi three minutes later after its defender Mehdi Rostami was shown a straight red card.
Furthermore, Nassaji suffered a home 1-0 defeat to Paykan in Ghaemshahr.
IPL third-placed Esteghlal was held to a goalless draw against Aluminum in Arak.
Mes earned a late 2-1 win over Foolad in Rafsanjan.
And Sanat Naft defeated Naft Masjed Soleyman 2-1 in an away match.
Persepolis leads the table with 54 points, followed by Sepahan and Esteghlal on 52 and 44 respectively.
