Zarif Hopes for Expansion of Iran-China Ties

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – In a congratulatory message on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the Communist Party of China, Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif expressed hope for the enhancement of relations between Tehran and Beijing.

In a post on his Twitter account on Thursday, the top Iranian diplomat congratulated China on the 100th anniversary of the Communist Party.

In the message, written in Chinese language, Zarif extended his “warm congratulations to the remarkable achievements of the Communist Party of China.”

“A hundred years is exactly the glory of prosperity,” he added.

The Iranian foreign minister also wished that under the leadership of the Communist Party of China, China will become more and more youthful and Iran-China relations will continue to grow with new vitality.

China marked the Chinese Communist Party’s centenary on July 1.

Xi Jinping, the president of China, kicked off the official celebrations marking the Chinese Communist Party’s centenary with a ceremony honoring 29 people for “outstanding contributions to the party”.

The CCP was founded in the city of Shanghai in July 1921, at a time when the vast country was racked by war and poverty.
