Coronavirus in Iran: Over 3,600 Patients in ICU
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – More than 3,600 coronavirus patients in Iran are being treated in intensive care units of hospitals, the Health Ministry said.
Providing the latest statistics on the coronavirus infection, the Health Ministry’s spokeswoman said on Saturday that among the coronavirus cases undergoing treatment at present, 3,602 are being kept in the intensive care units of medical centers because of critical health conditions.
Sima Sadat Lari said the total number of people tested positive for COVID-19 in the country has surpassed 3,355,700 after the detection of 11,664 new cases since yesterday.
She said the pandemic has claimed 151 lives over the past 24 hours, bringing the total death toll in Iran to 85,694.
More than 3,010,000 patients have recovered from the coronavirus infection so far or have been discharged from hospitals across Iran, Lari said.
The spokeswoman also said more than 24.43 million coronavirus diagnostic tests have been carried out in Iran so far and over 4.59 million people have received the first dose of coronavirus vaccine.
The number of people infected with COVID-19 across the world has surpassed 185 million and the death toll has exceeded 4 million.
