COVID Daily Deaths in Iran Hit All-Time High of 620
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – While efforts in Iran have been focused on supplying more vaccine for the coronavirus, the country reached a tragic record, recording 620 deaths on Sunday.
As the coronavirus is plaguing Iran in the fifth wave since its outbreak in February 2020, the Health Ministry said on Sunday that 620 patients have died over the past 24 hours.
The total death toll from COVID-19 in Iran has exceeded 97,800.
The number of people tested positive for COVID-19 infection in Iran has surpassed 4,425,800 following the detection of 36,736 new cases since Saturday, more than 4,270 of whom have been admitted to the hospital.
More than 3,728,900 patients have recovered from the coronavirus infection so far or have been discharged from hospitals across Iran, according to the Health Ministry’s figures.
Among those undergoing treatment in medical centers at present, 7,323 coronavirus patients have critical health conditions because of more severe infection.
More than 27.17 million coronavirus diagnostic tests have been carried out in Iran so far and over 15.09 million people have received the first dose of coronavirus vaccine.
The number of people infected with COVID-19 across the world has surpassed 207 million and the death toll has exceeded 4.37 million.
