694 More Iranians Die of COVID-19 Infection over Past 24 Hours
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The death toll from the coronavirus pandemic in Iran has risen to 104,716 people, with 694 more Iranians succumbing to the disease in the last 24 hours, according to Iran’s Health Ministry.
The ministry said on Thursday that 36,758 new cases of COVID-19 infection were discovered in the last 24 hours, with 4,940 of them being admitted to hospitals.
Some 4.05 million individuals have recovered or been discharged from hospitals out of a total of 4,833,135 infected people, it added.
Some 7,700 individuals with COVID-19 infection have been reported to be in serious condition and are being treated in intensive care facilities, the ministry noted.
It also said that 17,772,252 Iranians have received the first dose of the coronavirus vaccine and 7,150,303 people have so far received the second dose.
