COVID Deaths in Iran Exceed 107,000
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The death toll from the coronavirus pandemic in Iran has surpassed 107,000 after more than 660 patients succumbed to the disease in the last 24 hours, the Health Ministry said on Monday.
Over the past 24 hours, 33,780 new cases of COVID-19 infection were reported, with 4,918 of them hospitalized, the Health Ministry said on Monday.
It put the death toll from COVID-19 in Iran at 107,151, saying the disease has taken the lives of 669 patients over the past 24 hours.
More than 4,175,400 individuals have recovered or been discharged from hospitals out of a total of 4,960,700 ones who have contracted the disease, the Ministry added.
Some 7,886 victims of COVID-19 are in severe condition and are being treated in intensive care facilities, it said.
The Ministry also said that more than 18.55 million Iranians have received the first dose of the coronavirus vaccine, while over 8.38 million have received the second dosage.
The number of people infected with COVID-19 across the world has surpassed 217 million and the death toll has exceeded 4.5 million.
