Tokyo 2020: Iranian Shooter Sareh Javanmardi Wins Gold


TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iranian shooter Sareh Javanmardi claimed her third gold medal at the Paralympic Games.

Javanmardi, who had won two gold medals in Rio 2016, snatched a gold at the P2 - Women's 10m Air Pistol SH1 with world record score of 239.2.

Aysegul Pehlivanlar from Turkey took the silver medal with a score of 234.5 points and Hungary’s Krisztina David won the bronze with 210.5 points.

It was Iran’s seventh gold medal in the 2020 Paralympic Games.

Rouhollah Rostami (powerlifting), Vahid Nouri and Mohammad Reza Kheirollahzadeh (judo), Amir Khosravani (long jump), Mahdi Olad (shot putter) and Hashemiyeh Motaghian Moavi (seated javelin) have already won six gold medals for Iran.
