Coronavirus Figures in Iran: Death Toll Exceeds 112,000
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The death toll from the coronavirus pandemic in Iran has surpassed 112,000 after more than 530 patients succumbed to the disease in the last 24 hours, the Health Ministry said on Wednesday.
Over the past 24 hours, 26,854 new cases of COVID-19 infection were reported, with 3,713 of them hospitalized, the Health Ministry said on Wednesday.
It put the death toll from COVID-19 in Iran at 112,430, saying the disease has taken the lives of 538 patients over the past 24 hours.
More than 4,453,600 individuals have recovered or been discharged from hospitals out of a total of 5,210,000 ones who have contracted the disease, the Ministry added.
Some 7,534 victims of COVID-19 are in severe condition and are being treated in intensive care facilities, it said.
The Ministry also said that more than 20.55 million Iranians have received the first dose of the coronavirus vaccine, while over 10.89 million have received the second dosage.
The number of people infected with COVID-19 across the world has surpassed 222 million and the death toll has exceeded 4.6 million.
