Nearly 4.6 Million Recover from COVID in Iran

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – More than 4,597,000 coronavirus positive cases have recovered from the infectious disease in Iran, the Health Ministry said.

The figures released by the Iranian Health Ministry on Monday indicate that 22,541 new cases of COVID-19 infection have been reported across the country over the past 24 hours, with 3,163 of them hospitalized.

More than 4,597,200 individuals have recovered or been discharged from hospitals out of a total of 5,318,300 who have contracted the disease, the Ministry added.

It put the death toll from COVID-19 in Iran at 114,759, saying the disease has taken the lives of 448 patients over the past 24 hours.

Some 7,206 victims of COVID-19 are in severe condition and are being treated in intensive care facilities, it said.

The Ministry also said that more than 24.14 million Iranians have received the first dose of the coronavirus vaccine, while over 12.49 million have received the second dosage.

The number of people infected with COVID-19 across the world has surpassed 225 million and the death toll has exceeded 4.64 million.
