Iranian, Turkmen Presidents Underscore Closer Cooperation
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iranians President Ebrahim Raisi described the friendly and fraternal relations between Iran and Turkmenistan as "beyond the relations between the two neighbors," calling for strengthening bilateral relations.
"Regular meetings of the Joint Economic Cooperation Commission could be an effective stimulus for developing relations between Iran and Turkmenistan," Ebrahim Raisi said during a meeting with Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedow, on the second day of his visit to Tajikistan on Friday.
"Increasing the volume of exchanges, energy exchange and transit of commodities between the two countries are among the promising areas for developing cooperation between Iran and Turkmenistan," Raisi added.
Expressing his happiness with his country's good relations with the Islamic Republic of Iran, the President of Turkmenistan said that his country is willing to hold a joint commission for economic cooperation with Iran on a regular basis.
"Activating transit capacities between Iran and Turkmenistan would play a significant role in enhancing the level of economic and trade interactions between the two nations," Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedow said.
