Over 5.6 Million COVID Patients Recover in Iran


TEHRAN (Tasnim) – More than 5,600,000 coronavirus positive cases have recovered from the infectious disease in Iran, the Health Ministry said.

The figures released by the ministry on Sunday indicate that 7,554 new cases of COVID-19 infection have been reported across the country over the past 24 hours, with 1,078 of them hospitalized.

More than 5,601,700 individuals have recovered or been discharged from hospitals out of a total of 5,987,800 who have contracted the disease, the ministry added.

It put the death toll from COVID-19 in Iran at 127,299, saying the disease has taken the lives of 126 patients over the past 24 hours.

Some 3,687 victims of COVID-19 are in severe condition and are being treated in intensive care facilities, it said.

The ministry also said that more than 55.12 million Iranians have received the first dose of the coronavirus vaccine, while over 38.89 million have received the second dosage.

The number of people infected with COVID-19 across the world has surpassed 250 million and the death toll has exceeded 5.06 million.
