COVID Hospitalizations in Iran below 1,000


TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The number of coronavirus patients admitted to hospitals across Iran over the past 24 hours stood at around 900, the Health Ministry said Sunday.

Over the past 24 hours, 6,143 new cases of COVID-19 infection were reported, with 904 of them hospitalized, the Health Ministry said.

It put the death toll from COVID-19 in Iran at 128,167, saying the disease has taken the lives of 125 patients over the past 24 hours.

More than 5,695,900 individuals have recovered or been discharged from hospitals out of a total of 6,037,000 who have contracted the disease, the Ministry added.

Some 3,510 victims of COVID-19 are in severe condition and are being treated in intensive care facilities, it said.

The Ministry also said that more than 55.73 million Iranians have received the first dose of the coronavirus vaccine, while over 42.19 million have received the second dosage.

The number of people infected with COVID-19 across the world has surpassed 253 million and the death toll has exceeded 5.11 million.
