Iran's Javadi Snatches Silver at 2021 World Weightlifting Championships
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Mirmostafa Javadi of Iran seized a silver medal at the 2021 World Weightlifting Championships on Sunday.
Javadi lifted 163kg in the snatch and 204kg in clean and jerk and won the silver for a total of 367kg in the 81kg weight category.
Bulgarian weightlifter Karlos Nasar claimed the gold with a total of 374kg. Moldovan Marin Robu won the bronze by lifting 363kg.
The 2021 World Weightlifting Championships are being held from December 7 to 17 in Tashkent, Uzbekistan.
Ten Olympic champions from Tokyo four months ago, 15 current world champions, and entire teams from China and North Korea decided not to compete due to COVID-19.
