COVID Hospitalizations in Iran below 450


TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The number of coronavirus patients admitted to the hospital across Iran over the past 24 hours stood at around 430, showing a remarkable decline compared to the recent weeks, the Health Ministry said.

Over the past 24 hours, 2,784 new cases of COVID-19 infection were reported, with 433 of them hospitalized, the Health Ministry said on Tuesday.

It put the death toll from COVID-19 in Iran at 130,831, saying the disease has taken the lives of 67 patients over the past 24 hours.

More than 5,980,500 individuals have recovered or been discharged from hospitals out of a total of 6,160,000 who have contracted the disease, the Ministry added.

Some 3,042 victims of COVID-19 are in severe condition and are being treated in intensive care facilities, it said.

The ministry also said that over 58.85 million Iranians have received the first dose of the coronavirus vaccine, over 49.72 million have received the second dosage, and more than 2.97 million have gotten the booster shots.

The number of people infected with COVID-19 across the world has surpassed 271 million and the death toll has exceeded 5.33 million.
