Coronavirus in Iran: 3,000 Patients in ICUs
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Of the patients diagnosed with the coronavirus infection in Iran, more than 3,000 are in the intensive care units of hospitals.
The Iranian Health Ministry said on Wednesday that 3,004 victims of COVID-19 in the country are in severe condition and are being treated in intensive care facilities.
The death toll from the pandemic in Iran has risen to 130,883, as 52 more Iranians have succumbed to the deadly disease in the last 24 hours, it said.
Over the last 24 hours, 2,651 new cases of COVID-19 infection were reported, with 388 of them hospitalized, it added.
The Health Ministry also said more than 5,985,000 individuals have recovered or been discharged from hospitals out of a total of 6,162,000 sick people.
It went on to say that over 58.91 million Iranians have received the first dose of the coronavirus vaccine, over 49.84 million have received the second dosage, and more than 3.11 million have gotten the booster shots.
The number of people infected with COVID-19 across the world has surpassed 271 million and the death toll has exceeded 5.34 million.
