Enhancing Ties with Neighbors A Major Foreign Policy Strategy: Iran’s VP

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iranian First Vice President Mohammad Mokhber highlighted the administration’s resolve to develop constructive interaction with other countries, especially with neighbors.

“We are after constructive interaction and joint economic cooperation in the international arena,” Mokhber said, addressing the conference of ‘Heads of Missions of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Neighboring Countries’ on Wednesday.

He said having 15 neighbors is a great asset for the Islamic Republic and stressed that the fundamental strategy of the 13th administration’s foreign policy is boosting ties with the neighboring countries.

The first vice president urged Iran’s envoys to other countries, especially neighboring states, to seriously pursue economic issues and strive to identify each country’s capabilities and potentials and direct investments in a way that would benefit the people, government and economic activists.

The administration’s Economic Headquarters is fully prepared to cooperate with the Foreign Ministry and Iran’s ambassadors to use economic diplomacy in order to boost investments in different sectors, he went on to say.

Mokhber also highlighted the potentials of Iranians living abroad as an opportunity for contributing to the country’s development and growth.
