Esteghlal Defeats Padideh to Remain IPL Top
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Esteghlal football team defeated Padideh 3-0 in Matchweek 11 of the Iran Professional League (IPL) on Friday.
Jafar Salamani, Rudy Gestede and Arman Ramezani scored three goals for the visiting team in the first half at the Emam Reza Stadium in Mashhad.
In Isfahan, Sepahan was defeated against Paykan 2-1 in Naghsh-e Jahan Stadium. Alireza Koushki and Mohammad Hossein Fallah were on target for Paykan and Farshad Ahmadzadeh scored Sepahan’s only goal. With one minute remaining, Fallah received his second yellow card.
And in Tehran, Persepolis defeated Zob Ahan at the Azadi Stadium. Zob Ahan goalkeeper Parsa Jafari scored an own goal in the 60th minute and substitute Mehdi Torabi made it 2-0 from the penalty spot in the 88th minute.
Esteghlal remained top of the table with 25 points.
Sepahan sits second above Persepolis with 22 points thanks to a better goal difference.
