Aircraft Explodes into Flames after Smashing in San Diego Neighborhood (+Video)

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – A private jet crashed in a residential area in El Cajon, San Diego County, US state of California, knocking out power lines and bursting into flames on impact.

It is unclear yet if there were any casualties.

There have so far not been any official news on injuries and how many people were even on board the plane.

Lakeside Fire Protection District Chief Don Butz reportedly said there were were no fatalities or injuries on the ground, The Mirror reported.

The crash threw debris across Pepper Drive, but didn't damage any homes.

 

 

Journalist Adonis Albright tweeted: "Officials say they couldn’t find any survivors in the small jet crash. They still don’t know how many people were onboard."

One vehicle was damaged by some debris.

The plane crashed close to a home and hazmat as well as fire crews are currently at the scene to assess the situation.

A resident told NBC 7 he heard a plane flying too low.

Several power lines were downed in the area, according to the San Diego Sheriff’s Department, leaving 2,500 customers without power.

The areas of Lakeside, Bostonia and Granite Hills have all been experiencing outages.

San Diego's sheriff department requested residents and commuters to avoid taking the route near the plane crash.

They said the fire was brought under control shortly before midnight local time.

In a tweet, the San Diego Watch Commander said: “If you live in the area of El Cajon, Lakeside and Santee please avoid the area near Pepper Drive from Mollison Avenue east to Pepper Hill Drive.

“This is a developing situation. We appreciate your patience and cooperation.”
