Grief at Gen. Soleimani’s Loss Turning into Bliss for Eviction of Americans: Daughter
TEHRAN (Tasnim) - The daughter of Iran’s top anti-terror commander, Lt. General Qassem Soleimani, said the grief over the loss of her father and his comrades is going to be replaced by delight at the expulsion of American forces from Iraq and all other regional countries.
Zeinab Soleimani delivered an address to a gathering at the Baghdad airport on Sunday, held to commemorate the second martyrdom anniversary of General Soleimani, who was assassinated in an American strike in January 2020.
She said tears of grief at the loss of her father will soon turn into tears of happiness as “dear Iraq and all (other) regional countries” will be cleansed of the American aggressors.
It won’t be long when the region will celebrate the “humiliating withdrawal” of Americans and tribute will be paid to General Soleimani and his comrades whose blood brought about freedom and dignity for Iran, Iraq and all regional nations, she added.
Hailing Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis as the hero of the Iraqi nation that devoted his life to the fight against the enemies of Iraq, Zeinab Soleimani said the strong bonds between Gen. Soleimani and al-Muhandis reflected the brotherly, cordial and historical unity between Iran and Iraq.
She said that the inseparable unity between the Iranian and Iraqi nations has huge advantages for the Muslim states and the resistance front
She also warned that “harsh revenge” will haunt the enemies who have the blood of General Soleimani and his comrades on their hands.
General Soleimani, the former commander of the Quds Force of Iran’s Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC), was assassinated along with his Iraqi trenchmate Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis, the deputy head of the Popular Mobilization Units, in a US drone strike ordered by ex-president Donald Trump near Baghdad International Airport on January 3, 2020.
Both commanders were highly popular because of the key role they played in eliminating the Daesh terrorist group in the region, particularly in Iraq and Syria.
