Japan Withdraws from Spain Handball Tournament
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Japan withdrew from the International Tournament of Spain 2022 (TIE).
Several players of the Japanese team have tested positive for COVID-19.
Iran will start the tournament with a match against Poland on Thursday.
Team Melli will also play host Spain on Friday.
It will be part of the preparation for the 2022 Asian Men's Handball Championship, which will be held in Dhahran, Saudi Arabia from January 18 to 31.
Iran is in Group B along with Saudi Arabia, Australia and India.
