Iran Captain Jahanbakhsh Named Man of the Match against Iraq
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran national football team captain Alireza Jahanbakhsh was named Man of the Match for his performance against Iraq.
Iran defeated Iraq 1-0 in Group A of the 2022 FIFA World Cup qualification in Tehran’s Azadi Stadium on Thursday.
Jahanbakhsh impressed throughout and could have scored several times but Iraqi goalkeeper Fahad Talib denies his efforts.
His through ball from deep was missed by defender Ahmed Ibrahim and Porto striker Taremi raced in to score in the 48th minute.
