Over 6.9 Million Recover from COVID in Iran
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – More than 6.9 million coronavirus positive cases have so far recovered from the infectious disease in Iran, the Health Ministry said.
Figures released by the ministry on Wednesday indicate that 4,228 new cases of COVID-19 infection have been reported across the country over the past 24 hours, with 494 of them hospitalized.
More than 6.9 million individuals have recovered or been discharged from hospitals out of a total of 7.18 million who have contracted the disease, the ministry added.
It put the death toll from COVID-19 in Iran at 140,451, saying the disease has taken the lives of 44 patients over the past 24 hours.
More than 1,480 victims of COVID-19 are in severe condition and are being treated in intensive care facilities, it said.
The ministry also said that over 64 million Iranians have received the first dose of the coronavirus vaccine, over 57 million have received the second dosage, and more than 26.4 million have gotten the booster shots.
The number of people infected with COVID-19 across the world has surpassed 494 million and the death toll has exceeded 6.18 million.
