Iran Inks Oil Deals with Latin American States
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – During his recent visits to Venezuela and Nicaragua, Iranian Oil Minister Javad Owji signed agreements and MoUs with the Latin American nations.
During Owji’s recent tour of Latin America, four memoranda of understanding, two agreements in the field of oil industry, and two agricultural agreements were signed.
Owji held a series of talks with the leaders and officials of Venezuela and Nicaragua.
He held separate meetings with Venezuela’s president, ministers of petroleum, minister of foreign affairs, and the CEO of the Venezuelan National Oil Company.
During his stay in Nicaragua, Owji met with the Latin American nation’s president and parliament speaker, and attended a joint Economic Commission meeting with six Nicaraguan cabinet ministers to discuss mutual cooperation.
Owji also visited a number of oil facilities in South and Central America.
The documents signed during the Iranian oil minister’s trip revolved around development and production in oil and gas fields, upgrading and modernizing refineries and utilizing refinery capacities, training manpower and expertise in the oil, gas and petrochemical industries, exporting engineering services and technology transfer, and developing export markets of crude oil, gas condensate and oil products, the government’s website reported.
