Iran Reports Zero Daily COVID Deaths
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran on Thursday reported zero daily deaths from the coronavirus for the first time since the outbreak of the pandemic.
The Health Ministry said today that no one has died from the disease in the country over the past 24 hours, and the death toll from COVID-19 in Iran remains 141,318.
It said the total number of people who have tested positive for COVID-19 infection in Iran has exceeded 7,232,000 following the detection of 175 new cases since yesterday.
At least 7.52 million patients have recovered from the coronavirus infection so far or have been discharged from hospitals across Iran, it noted.
The ministry also said that among those undergoing treatment in medical centers at present, 494 coronavirus patients are in the intensive care units.
It went on to say that over 64.55 million Iranians have received the first dose of the coronavirus vaccine, over 57.86 million have received the second dosage, and more than 27.56 million have gotten the booster shots.
Worldwide, the number of people infected with COVID-19 across has surpassed 533 million and the death toll has exceeded 6.31 million.
