US Withdrawal from Region Fundamental Solution to West Asia Crises: Iran’s President
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi said the solution to the crises in West Asia lies in the withdrawal of the United States from east of the Euphrates and the entire region.
“As the Leader of the Revolution said, the Americans must leave Syria. America’s withdrawal from east of the Euphrates and the entire region is the basic and root solution to the crises in West Asia,” the president said in a Wednesday meeting in Tehran with Syrian Foreign Minister Faisal Mekdad.
“The solution to alleviating the concerns of some countries is the control of the Syrian army over all the borders of this country, and the national sovereignty of Syria must also be respected. Ignoring these issues causes various risks,” he added.
Raisi also wished success and well-being for the Syrian government and nation and said, “I am sure that the future will be to the benefit of the people of this country, and the patience and resistance of the Syrian people make the future of this country and region bright.”
In this meeting, the Syrian foreign minister presented a report on the current political and security situation of the Arab country while conveying the greetings of Syrian President Bashar Assad to Raisi, according to the website of the Iranian president’s office.
Mekdad pointed out the will of his country to solve the problems of Syria and added, “We have various political and diplomatic initiatives to achieve these goals.”
Appreciating the holding of the Summit of the Guarantor States of the Astana Process in Tehran and expressing his satisfaction with its achievements, the Syrian foreign minister said, “The guidelines of the Leader of the Revolution and the views of the president of Iran show an agreement between Tehran and Damascus.”
