Israel Creating Conflict to Cover Up Own Crises: Iran’s FM

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian strongly condemned the recent Israeli strike on the Gaza Strip, saying the Zionist regime continues to create conflict in order to whitewash the multi-layered crises inside the occupied territories.

In a telephone conversation with Secretary General of Palestinian Islamic Jihad movement Ziad al-Nakhala on Saturday, Amirabdollahian strongly condemned the recent Israeli attack on the people of Gaza.

He said there is no doubt that the Palestinian resistance and the people of Gaza will emerge victorious in this struggle.

The Iranian foreign minister then paid tribute to the martyrs of Palestine and also those who were killed in the latest brutal attack by the Zionists on the Gaza Strip.

Amirabdollahian added that Israel is trying to cover up the multi-layered crises in the occupied Palestinian territories by continuing to create crisis.

For his part, Nakhala appreciated the Iranian people and government for their support for Palestine and briefed Amirabdollahian on the latest developments in Gaza.

He said today, the Zionist regime is at its weakest state and the resistance fighters are protecting the people of Gaza and Palestine with dignity and full force and keep seeking to liberate the holy city of al-Quds, the Foreign Ministry’s website reported.

Nakhala added that the Islamic Jihad has responded to the Zionist regime by relying on God and the power of the Palestinian resistance. “We will achieve a crucial milestone in this confrontation."

On Friday, at least 15 people, including a senior commander of the Islamic Jihad, were killed in an airstrike by Israel on a center affiliated with the resistance movement in the city of Rafah located in the southern part of the besieged Gaza Strip.

Following the strike, the Islamic Jihad fired more than 100 rockets toward the occupied territories. The movement called the retaliatory barrage only an “initial response” to the Israeli bloodbath.

Israeli warplanes on Saturday struck two residential buildings in Gaza City, displacing the occupants and injuring more than a dozen people as part of the latest episode of the regime's brutality against the blockaded enclave.

Furthermore, an Israeli drone demolished a multi-story building in the city after firing several missiles.

According to the report, at least 13 people, mostly children, were injured on Saturday.
