Iran’s FM Hails Oman’s Contributions to Sanctions Removal Talks
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian appreciated the efforts made by Oman regarding the talks on the removal of anti-Iran sanctions and revival of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA).
Amirabdollahian and his Omani counterpart Badr al-Busaidi spoke over the phone on Wednesday about regional and international issues of mutual interest, including the latest developments in the Vienna talks.
The top Iranian diplomat extended President Ebrahim Raisi’s warm greetings to Oman’s Sultan Haitham bin Tariq and thanked the Persian Gulf sultanate for its views and efforts regarding the sanctions removal talks.
The Iranian foreign minister also spoke about the Zionist regime’s latest aggression against Gaza. Amirabdollahian pointed to his extensive consultations with different regional and international sides and condemned the Israeli onslaught on Gaza, according to the Iranian Foreign Ministry’s website.
Oman’s foreign minister, for his part, highlighted Iran’s constructive role in the sanctions removal talks and stressed that Oman believes that the success of the negotiations will be beneficial to all sides.
Busaidi further spoke about the rights of the Palestinian people, saying Oman has always supported the idea of helping Palestinians achieve their rights and materialize their cause and will stand by the Palestinian people.
The foreign ministers of Iran and Oman further discussed some bilateral issues.
