Iran Ready to Undertake Infrastructural Projects in Bolivia: FM
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Expressing Iran’s willingness to broaden economic and trade ties with Bolivia, Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian said the Islamic Republic is prepared to carry out infrastructural projects in the Latin American country.
A diplomatic delegation from Bolivia, led by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Freddy Mamani Machaca, has traveled to Iran to attend the first session of the Iran-Bolivia Joint Economic Commission and the fourth meeting of political consultations between the two countries.
In a meeting with the Bolivian official, held in Tehran on Sunday, Amirabdollahian highlighted the significance that Iran attaches to the promotion of cooperation with Bolivia.
The Iranian private sector is prepared to boost economic ties with Bolivia, carry out infrastructural projects in the Latin American country, offer technical and engineering services, and expand bilateral trade in various areas, including agricultural industries, the foreign minister added.
For his part, the Bolivian deputy foreign minister stressed the need for closer cooperation between the two countries to strengthen multilateralism and international peace and security.
Mamani Machaca also lauded Iran’s great capabilities in the industrial, scientific, technological and medical sectors, describing the Joint Economic Commission as a good opportunity to enhance the relations between the two nations.
At the beginning of her mission to Tehran in February 2021, Bolivia’s ambassador to Iran said her country regards Iran as a strategic partner, giving an assurance that Bolivia will keep supporting Iran in international organizations.
