Brazil Regards Iran as Reliable Economic Partner

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Foreign Minister of Brazil Carlos Alberto Franco Franca described Iran as a reliable economic partner for his country.

In a meeting with his Iranian counterpart on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly in New York on Friday, Franca said Brazil considers Iran as a reliable partner for the expansion of economic cooperation in the West Asia region.

Highlighting the common interests of the two countries, the Brazilian diplomat expressed his country’s readiness to increase trade exchanges and carry out the previous agreements with Iran.

For his part, Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian described the 120-year history of relations between Iran and Brazil as a valuable asset in the promotion of cooperation in various fields.

He also urged that the two governments should support private companies to contribute to the enhancement of economic relations and trade exchanges.

The two foreign ministers also weighed plans to broaden interaction between the two countries in the fields of technology and agriculture, share environmental protection experiences, provide reciprocal support for their representatives at the international organizations, and back the role of BRICS in strengthening multilateralism in the international arena.
