Iran’s Azimi Wins Gold at Dmitry Korkin Wrestling Tournament
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Mobin Azimi of Iran claimed a gold medal at the Dmitry Korkin Senior International Tournament on Saturday.
He defeated his Russian rival in the final match of the 92kg.
Iran sent five freestyle wrestlers to the international tournament held in Yakutsk, Russia but just Azimi claimed a medal.
The team was headed by Behnam Ehsanpour in the tournament.
The tournament was held under United World Wrestling freestyle rules in 57, 61, 65, 70, 74, 86, 92 and 125 kilogram weight categories.
