Iranian Authors Invited to Participate at 3rd National Epic Story Award

"From the south to the north of the country, from the east to the west, and from every province, the participants can identify the epic creators and heroes of their province and write about them," the scientific secretary of the National Epic Story Award, Mohammadreza Sharafi Khabushan, said at a press conference, adding that the task of the epic is to forge an identity and uphold cultural boundaries.

The National Epic Story Award also considers borders, as it calls upon other nations with similar cultures to Iran to attend, according to Khabushan.

According to a report by Hozeh Honari's public relations, Majid Asgari, the head of the Hozeh Honari in Khorasan Razavi Province, Ali Forouzanfar, the artistic deputy of Hozeh Honari, and Khabushan, attended the press conference on Monday, October 31st.

Three categories will compete for the third National Epic Story Award: short story, novel, and special section under three topics of historical, religious, and native epics. After analyzing and validating the novel plot, the created works will be judged individually in the special division for novel plots.

The first three participants would get cash rewards as well as honorary diploma and certificate of appreciation. The award for the special section would consist of free participation in the novel writing workshop, publication of the work, and payment of the winners' authorship fees.

Each participant may compete in each division at the same time and submit an unlimited number of works. The call is open to participants of any age.

By March 6, 2023 for the short story and novel sections and December 21, 2022 for the special section, competitors must submit their works to the National Epic Story Award secretariat.
