Raisi Derides Biden’s Comments on Freeing Iran
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi mocked his American counterpart’s comments about plans to free Iran as a symptom of Biden’s absent-mindedness, saying Iran has been freed 43 years ago and will never be captivated by the US again.
President Raisi delivered a speech to a large crowd of people marking the National Day of Fighting against Global Arrogance in Tehran on Friday morning.
Lashing out at the US president for supporting riots in Iran, President Raisi said he has been informed a few hours ago about the comments that Joe Biden has made because of his “absent-mindedness” on the plans to free Iran.
“Iran has been freed 43 years ago” after the victory of the Islamic Revolution and is determined not to be captivated by the US again, President Raisi underlined.
The president made it clear that Iran will never turn into a cow being milked by the US.
“The Iranian nation has repeatedly expressed its stances,” Raisi noted, saying the younger generation of Iranians holds the same view today.
His remarks came after Joe Biden on Thursday told supporters he would free Iran after audience members appeared to call on him to address the ongoing development in Iran.
“Don’t worry, we’re gonna free Iran," Biden said during a campaign speech in California, adding, “They’re gonna free themselves pretty soon.”
Reacting to those comments, President Raisi warned that the enemy has targeted Iran’s national unity and integrity.
“Today, the US has targeted (Iran’s) security, calm and might. We must be vigilant and prudent in this field,” Raisi stated, warning that participation in the riots in Iran would serve the enemy’s strategy.
Denouncing the US government as the symbol of arrogance, the Iranian president said Washington would eliminate many people and threaten their interests in order to fulfill its own interests.
In remarks on Wednesday, Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei pointed to the obvious role of the enemies in the riots that have been taking place in the country during the past few weeks, saying, “The events that took place these past few weeks were not merely street riots. They were detailed plots. The enemy initiated hybrid warfare. The enemy, namely the United States, the Zionist regime, some insidious and malicious European powers, and some groups, came to the scene with all of their capabilities.”
