Private Sector Role Conducive to Enhanced Iran-Russia Trade Ties: Minister
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian stressed the need for the private sectors of Iran and Russia to contribute to the promotion of economic cooperation between the two countries.
A friendship group representing Russia’s State Duma, led by Vladimir Abdualievich Vasilyev, held a meeting with the foreign minister of Iran in Tehran on Monday.
In the gathering, Amirabdollahian highlighted the role of parliaments in broadening relations between Tehran and Moscow, saying the High Commission on Parliamentary Cooperation acts as a major mechanism to expand friendly relations between the two states.
Expressing satisfaction with a rise in the trade exchanges between Iran and Russia, the foreign minister stressed the need for the private sectors to engage more actively in the promotion of bilateral economic cooperation.
For his part, Vasilyev emphasized the importance of parliamentary interaction in the enhancement of relations with Iran.
He also called for more frequent reciprocal visits by the parliamentary delegations of the two states.
