Persepolis into Hazfi Cup Round of 16

Persepolis was held to a 2-2 draw by the First Division team in Tehran’s Azadi Stadium and won the match 4-1 in penalty shootout.

Van Pars player Iman Kiani found the back of the net in the 10th minute from the penalty spot and Giorgi Gvelesiani equalized the match from the spot in the 60th minute.

Van Pars midfielder Abouzar Safarzadeh put the visiting team ahead once again in the 66th minute but Morteza Pouraliganji leveled the score in the 77th minute.

Persepolis defeated Van Pars 4-1 on penalties.

Hazfi Cup is the Iranian football knockout cup competition, run by the Iranian Football Federation. Esteghal is the most successful club with seven titles.

Nassaji Mazandaran is the titleholder.
