Iran Hazfi Cup: Esteghlal Mollasani, Nassaji March into QF
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Esteghlal Mollasani and Nassaji football teams qualified for the quarterfinals round of Iran’s Hazfi Cup on Tuesday.
Esteghlal Mollasani defeated Mes 3-1 in Ahvaz’s Ghadir Stadium.
Aref Rostami scored for Mes in the seventh minute but Hamzeh Khaziravi (two goals) and Farshid Padash were on target for the first-tier team.
Mes Kerman was reduced to 10 men in the 110th minute after Ruon Tongyik was shown a straight red card.
Titleholder Nassaji also beat Aluminum 6-5 on penalties in Arak after the match ended 0-0 after 120 minutes.
Sepahan will meet Persepolis in Isfahan’s Naghsh-e Jahan Stadium on Wednesday.
Hazfi Cup is the Iranian football knockout cup competition, run by the Iranian Football Federation.
Esteghlal is the most successful club with seven titles.
