Shooting Incident Reported between Iranian Border Guards, Taliban Forces
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – A shooting incident occurred on Saturday between Taliban forces and Iranian border guards near the Milk Bridge in the Hirmand district of Sistan and Balouchestan province, southeast Iran.
There were no casualties or financial losses, an informed source told Tasnim News Agency.
"The conflict and shooting between Iranian border guards and Taliban forces in the vicinity of the Milk Bridge did not result in any fatalities," the source stated, adding that the situation has been resolved, and the exact cause of the incident is under investigation. In late February, an Iranian border guard ended up being captured by the Taliban forces after trying to stop a smuggler in the same outpost, which then was released by the Taliban after he had been taken into Afghanistan unintentionally during the search of a vehicle carrying contraband goods at the same border post.
