Iran Criticizes EU Parliament's Resolution on Investigation into Illness of Female Students

TEHRAN (Tasnim) - Iran's Ministry of Foreign Affairs spokesperson, Nasser Kanaani, expressed disappointment and surprise at the European Parliament's recent resolution regarding the ongoing investigation into the illness of some female students in schools in Iran.

While the Islamic Republic of Iran is taking the issue seriously and conducting scientific investigations, Kanaani noted that the repetition of baseless allegations against the country was regrettable.

According to the Iranian spokesman, the judicial officials have identified some of the perpetrators of this crime, and it is in fact the Islamic Republic that should be the complainant and plaintiff in this suspicious and inhumane affair.

Kanaani also stated that it is shameful that some (countries) use the actions of their agents and dependent elements in this crime as a tool to tarnish the Image and demonize the Islamic Republic of Iran, adding that the European Parliament has unfortunately become a place for such extremist elements to spread hatred against the Iranian people.

He emphasized that Iran has condemned the inhumane act and demanded a full investigation to identify and punish the perpetrators.

He added that Iran would not give up on any foreign pressure to bring justice to the perpetrators, accomplices, and causes of these criminal incidents.

The spokesperson also expressed concerns that the European Parliament might stand up for the perpetrators in the name of human rights, demanding that they not be punished, as it has done in the past.
