US Exports to Iran Show 35% Growth in Two Months


TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The US Statistics Office reported that the value of products exported from the United States to the Islamic Republic of Iran in the first two months of 2023 (January-February) registered a 35 percent growth.

According to its latest report released on Saturday, the value of trade exchanges between the US and Iran from January to February 2023 reached $9.6 billion.

Hence, the trade exchanges between the two countries in this period showed a 35 percent growth as compared to last year’s corresponding period.

Over $7.1 billion worth of non-oil products were exchanged between Iran and the United States from January to February 2022.

According to this report, the United States had exported over $7 million worth of products to Iran from January to February 2022.

The US import of products from Iran in this period stood at only $0.1 million, which shows no change in value as compared to last year’s corresponding period.

The value of trade exchanges between Iran and the US is negligible as compared to the total trade exchanges of the two countries with the world.

Iran ranked 163rd among US target export markets from January to February 2023.

According to this report, the US export of products to Iran in February hit $6.4 million, showing a more than threefold rise as compared to the same period of last year.

The United States had exported $2 million worth of products to Iran in February 2022 while it had imported $0.1 million worth of products from Iran in this period.
