Iranian Ambassador Awarded Syrian Order of Merit
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Syrian President Bashar al-Assad awarded the Iranian Ambassador in Damascus, Mahdi Sobhani, the Syrian Order of Merit of the excellent degree.
The medal was presented by the Assistant Foreign and Expatriates Minister Ayman Sousan in a farewell ceremony held at the Dama Rose Hotel in Damascus, SANA reported.
Sobhani received the award for his efforts in developing Syrian-Iranian relations and for his dedication to carrying out his duties as his country's ambassador to Syria.
Sousan praised Sobhani's important role in consolidating the relations between the two countries and expressed his high appreciation for Iran's support for Syria during the war.
Sobhani expressed his gratitude to Assad for granting him the medal, and pointed out that the Syrian-Iranian relations are deep, strategic, and distinguished with cooperation in various fields.
He also highlighted the regular visits and consultations of delegations between the two countries, signing agreements, and cooperation at regional, international, and multilateral levels.
