Saudi Officials Visit Yemen Capital for Peace Talks with Ansarullah Leaders

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Saudi and Omani delegates have visited the Yemeni capital Sana'a to discuss a peaceful solution to end the war with Ansarullah officials.

This marks the first time Saudi officials have visited the city since the war in Yemen began in 2015. The delegations are also negotiating a mechanism to lift the blockade on Yemen.

The head of the Yemeni national delegation Mohammed Abdul-Salam met with the Omani delegation in Sana'a and stressed that the Ansarullah movement will never compromise on their revolution demands. President Mehdi Almashad welcomed the Saudi and Omani delegations at the Presidential Palace in Sana'a and praised Omani officials for seeking a peaceful resolution to end the war.

Yemen’s Prime Minister Abdulaziz Bin Habtoor believes that Yemen can co-exist peacefully with Saudi Arabia and the UAE as long as they respect Yemen's sovereignty. He also believes that Yemeni politicians cannot be bought to secure foreign interests in the country anymore.

Although the negotiations between Ansarullah and the Saudis are expected to take place behind closed doors, the message is clear that the Saudis are ready to talk. However, some Yemeni analysts remain skeptical about Saudi motives, citing their unwillingness to end their military occupation of Yemeni islands.
