Iran in Talks with 17 Countries to Launch Joint Free Zones: Official

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The Secretary of Iran’s Supreme Council of Free Trade-Industrial and Special Economic Zones said on Saturday that talks are underway with 17 countries in order to set up joint free zones.

Once these free zones are launched, trade and investment will be facilitated and consequently, export will be boomed, Hojjatollah Abdolmaleki stated.

This move will lead to production growth as reiterated by the Leader of the Islamic Revolution at the beginning of the current Iranian calendar year of 1401 (started on March 21), which has been named the year of “Inflation Control and Production Growth”, he added.

Presently, Iran is consulting with countries such as the Russian Federation to strengthen bilateral ties in the fields of trade and economy, the oficial went on to say.
